Project Overview
This residential roofing project at Heany Junction, on the outskirts of Bulawayo, presented one of the more technically demanding layouts in our portfolio — a large L-shaped floor plan requiring a fully integrated multi-hip roof across two interconnected wings.
Every valley, ridge, and hip junction had to align precisely. There was no room for error. The client needed a roof that would perform flawlessly through Matabeleland's harsh summer rainy season, look sharp from the road, and last for decades without maintenance headaches.

What We Did
Kastel Roofing designed and installed a complete multi-hip Chromadek IBR roofing system across the entire structure, including custom-fabricated timber trusses engineered to span the full width of both wings, all internal valley channels correctly pitched for optimal rainwater drainage, precision-cut and fitted Chromadek IBR sheeting in Charcoal, a full perimeter fascia and barge board installation, and ridge and hip capping finished to a clean, watertight seal throughout.
The aerial photograph tells the story: clean parallel ribs running uniformly across every panel, tight valley intersections with no visible misalignment, and hips that meet at sharp, well-defined ridges — the mark of a crew that measures twice and cuts once.

Materials Used
Chromadek IBR sheeting (Charcoal) is a COLORBOND-equivalent pre-painted galvanised steel sheet renowned for its corrosion resistance, heat reflectivity, and long-term colour retention under the Zimbabwean sun. It carries a manufacturer's paint warranty and requires minimal maintenance over its lifespan — making it the material of choice for discerning residential builds across Bulawayo and Matabeleland.
